Follow official messaging policies
Businesses must follow the WhatsApp Business Messaging Policy, Commerce Policy, template rules, and user consent requirements at all times.
Keep accurate business information
Maintain accurate business information, a working website, valid contact details, and reachable customer support channels.
Never mislead users
Businesses must not mislead users, impersonate another company, send prohibited content, or message users without proper opt-in.
Messaging rules
Important compliance rules to follow
- Use only approved message templates for business-initiated messages outside the allowed customer service window.
- Reply freely only within the allowed customer service window after a user messages the business.
- Provide clear human support or escalation where automation is used.
- Do not send spam, misleading offers, fraud, prohibited products, illegal services, adult content, gambling, payday loans, MLM, discriminatory content, or restricted regulated goods unless explicitly allowed by Meta policy and applicable law.
- Keep the WhatsApp Business profile accurate with business name, website, email or phone, and support details.
- Include opt-in language before users receive business messages.
- Include unsubscribe or “stop messaging me” handling.
- Include Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, and Refund Policy pages.

Content that must never be sent
Do not send the following unless explicitly allowed by Meta policy and applicable law.
- Spam and misleading offers
- Fraud or impersonation
- Prohibited or illegal products and services
- Adult content and gambling
- Payday loans and MLM schemes
- Discriminatory content
- Restricted regulated goods (unless explicitly allowed)
